The First 24 offers style, versatility, ease of use, and sensational performance, all in an easily trailerable package that is guaranteed to redefine the pleasure of sailing. Her ingenious layout makes her a comfortable boat for up to six crew on a coastal cruise and eight crew for day sailing activities.
Designed by Sam Manuard, the First 24 is a high-performance thoroughbred with a boldly modern hard-chine hull. Most of the running rigging is led back to the clutches located on the companionway and two winches combined with jammers make trimming like child’s play. The First 24 performs particularly well in light and medium air, progressing moderately and with ease at speeds of 15 knots. Two hatches open a large sail locker built into the bottom of the cockpit. Fenders can be stored here along with a small outboard engine.
Below deck, the vast open interior of the First 24 has a large forward double berth and single berths on either side of the keel box. An ingenious cushion system means you can unite the two single berths to turn them into a double berth. The table can be carried in a bag and set up inside or outside in the cockpit and can be left on shore to make the boat lighter for racing. A small galley with hob and icebox, chemical toilets and an electric pack combined with solar panels make the yacht fully autonomous.
